Speakers include: John Hewson AM – Professor, Tax and Transfer Policy Institute, ANU – Dr Hewson is an economic and financial expert with experience in academia, business, government, media and the financial system. He has worked for Treasury, the Reserve Bank and the IMF. David Borger – Western Sydney Director, Sydney Business Chamber – David served as Lord Mayor of Parramatta for 3 terms, progressing Civic Place development and urban renewal to increase investment and employment whilst also transforming parks, public spaces and walkways. David has chaired the Mayor’s Forum at Sydney University. Katherine O’Regan – Executive Director, Cities Leadership Institute – Kathryn has over 30 years experience in developing and implementing growth strategies for business and government. The Cities Leadership Institute is dedicated to building the capacity of urban leaders to make cities, towns and communities great places. Christopher Stapleton – Stapleton Transportation and Planning – As well as his international work, Chris developed “The Sydney Integrated Transport Strategy” that includes a fine-grained bus network, operational management and corridor demands for heavy and light rail, roads, costing and programming. This work has been applied to various studies including existing and new regional areas in Sydney. Brendan McRandle – Executive Director, Western Sydney, Department of Infrastructure & Regional Development – The Department provides policy advice, programmes and regulation across civil aviation and airports, major projects facilitation, land transport, infrastructure planning and co-ordination.
